Chicago Elite Classic
Last month, Chicago Elite Classic closed out another solid weekend at Chicago’s top high school basketball showcase. From December 5-7, the event brought together 40 teams across two venues, with programs traveling in from Georgia, Missouri, Indiana, Washington D.C., Ohio, and of course, Illinois. Over the three days, fans saw matchups featuring 26 boys teams and 14 girls teams, giving the city a full slate of competitive games with over 13,000 fans in attendance over the weekend.
A highlight of the weekend was She Got Next, a full day dedicated to girls basketball on December 7 at Malcolm X College. The boys games tipped off earlier in the week at Credit Union 1 Arena on December 5-6, creating steady energy throughout both days and giving players a strong platform to compete.
This year also marked the first time CEC added a Middle School Showcase, held on December 3 at Marist High School. The showcase featured four games highlighting eight middle schools from across Chicago which gave younger players the chance to compete on a bigger stage while being part of the CEC experience.
Position Sports supported the event by managing team and staff hotels, running in-game entertainment, overseeing team operations, and handling social media and graphics. It was a full team effort and another successful year for the CEC.
