Event Operations Intern (Paid)
Internship Description
Gain hands-on experience in the sports and events industry while contributing to Position Sports' Event Operations team. This paid intern position will contribute to a variety of projects and event initiatives, with opportunities to support premier collegiate sporting events such as the Hall of Fame Series and the Las Vegas Bowl. This internship is designed to provide meaningful professional experience while helping you strengthen your event management skills, expand your industry knowledge, and prepare for future opportunities in sports and live event operations. Working alongside experienced event professionals, you will actively support the planning and execution of events while building practical skills in:
Event planning and logistics
Event operations
Hospitality and guest experience
Event-day execution
Internship Duration
Mid-September to December (150 hours minimum)
Student Requirements
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
Previous experience through campus organizations, volunteer work, internships, athletics, or event support is preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently, while collaborating as part of a team
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods during event days and assisting with event setup and breakdown
Availability to be in the Position Sports office for 10-15 hours/week
Availability to support evenings, weekends, and event days as required
Compensation
$16.00/hour
Event Operations Intern (Unpaid)
Internship Description
Gain hands-on experience in the sports and events industry through a structured learning opportunity with Position Sports' Event Operations team. Intern will have the opportunity to support premier collegiate sporting events, including the Hall of Fame Series and the Las Vegas Bowl. This educational internship is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the sports event industry. It will help you connect classroom concepts with real-world event operations, gain insight into careers in sports event management, and develop a deeper understanding of what it takes to successfully execute premier sporting events. Working alongside experienced event professionals, you will observe, assist, and participate in all phases of event planning and execution while developing practical skills in:
Event planning and logistics
Event operations
Hospitality and guest experience
Event-day execution
Internship Duration
September 14 to November 16 (minimum of 90 hours for class credit)
Student Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
Interest in event operations, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences through live events
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and event partners
Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods during event days and assisting with event setup and breakdown
Availability to be in the Position Sports office for 10 hours/week

Communications Intern (Unpaid)
Internship Description
Gain hands-on experience in the sports and events industry through a structured learning opportunity with Position Sports' Communications team. Intern will have the opportunity to support premier collegiate sporting events, including the Hall of Fame Series and the Las Vegas Bowl. This educational internship is designed to provide meaningful exposure to sports communications and event marketing while helping students connect classroom concepts with real-world experiences, gain insight into careers in sports communications and public relations, and develop a deeper understanding of how effective communications enhance the success of live events. Working alongside experienced communications professionals, interns will observe, assist, and participate in the planning and execution of communications initiatives while developing practical skills in:
Social media strategy and execution
Content development and storytelling
Event communications and media operations
Media relations and press materials
Brand messaging and communications planning
Cross-functional collaboration with Event Operations and Sponsorship teams
Internship Duration
Mid-September to mid-November (minimum of 90 hours for class credit)
Student Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
Interest in event operations, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences through live events

Internship Description

Intern will have the opportunity to support premier collegiate sporting events, including the Hall of Fame Series and the Las Vegas Bowl. This educational internship is designed to provide meaningful exposure to sponsorship strategy and event execution while helping students connect classroom concepts with real-world experiences, gain insight into careers in sports partnerships and event management, and develop a deeper understanding of creating value for corporate partners through live events. Working alongside experienced professionals, interns will observe, assist, and participate in the planning, coordination, and execution of sponsorship initiatives while developing practical skills in:
Sponsorship fulfillment and activation
Sponsorship asset coordination and execution
Event planning and logistics
Hospitality and VIP experiences
Cross-functional collaboration with Event Operations, Marketing, and Communications teams
Internship Duration
