Nike Football’s The Opening & Elite 11 Finals Showcase Nation’s Top 2015 High School Football Athletes

9th Annual Competitions to Crown 7ON and Lineman Challenge National Champions

BEAVERTON, Ore. – After months of highly competitive training and testing, Nike Football’s The Opening Finals will bring together 166 of the nation’s top high school football prospects for the ultimate football experience. The five-day competition, taking place at Nike’s World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., from July 5-10, will provide athletes the opportunity to learn from, and compete with, the best in the game.

Known as one of the premier events in high school football, Nike Football’s The Opening attracts the best of the best and is designed to help athletes improve their knowledge of the sport, learn position-specific training techniques, and ultimately crown a winner for the Nike 7ON tournament (7v7) and the Nike Elite Linemen Challenge National Championship.

Over the past five months, a series of Nike Football Combines and Nike Football The Opening Regionals, managed by Student Sports, have evaluated more than 17,000 athletes on a 19-stop tour through 13 different cities, showcasing extraordinary talent from student-athletes throughout the country. ESPNU will broadcast the Nike Football Rating National Championship on July 8 and show key highlights for the other two events July 9-10.

For the third consecutive year, Nike will also host the Elite 11 Quarterback Competition - featuring the top 18 high school signal callers vying for 11 spots in this year’s Elite 11 class. The Elite 11 will commence on July 6 and run through the end of Nike Football The Opening Finals on July 10, with the final 11 announced that evening.

Nike and Hudl are teaming up to deliver an unprecedented level of training and development content for athletes and coaches. Hudl will be the primary location to help coaches and athletes to become better students of the game.

Several Nike NFL athletes, including Ndamukong Suh, Richard Sherman, Manti Te’o, Coby Fleener, Victor Cruz, Trent Williams and Bobby Wagner as well as 2015 NFL first round Draft picks Todd Gurley and Leonard Williams will be on hand during Nike Football The Opening Finals to assist in coaching and provide expert insights on training at the highest level.
